LogoNerds Review: $27 Logos, Revisions and the Fine Print
LogoNerds sells custom logos from $27. We check what each package includes, file formats, revisions, refunds, turnaround and who owns the final design.
A new business needs a logo long before it can justify paying an agency for one. Free logo generators are quick but generic, and freelance marketplaces can be hit and miss. LogoNerds sits in between: a US-based design service, trading online since 2007, that sells custom logos from $27 and says its work is done by an in-house team rather than a crowd of contest entrants. The low price is real. What matters is knowing what you get for it, and what the terms leave to you.

What do the LogoNerds packages include?
There are three logo packages, priced in US dollars:
- Professional Web Logo, $27: three initial concepts, web formats only (JPG, GIF and a transparent PNG), up to four revisions, first concepts in three to five business days.
- Professional Business Logo, $47: six concepts, web formats plus print files (editable AI, EPS, TIFF and 300dpi JPG), up to six revisions, same turnaround.
- Character Mascot Design, $97: three poses to choose from, web and print formats, up to six revisions, delivered in seven business days.
The order page says “free revisions”, but the terms of service set those caps. Further changes after you approve a design cost $17, and so does each extra concept you want delivered as a final file. A PSD is included with print formats but is only editable if you ask for that before work begins.
For most businesses, the $47 package is the sensible minimum. Without vector files (AI or EPS), you cannot scale a logo cleanly for signage, vehicle wraps or embroidery, and a printer will usually ask for one.

How does the LogoNerds design process work?
You choose a package, pay through FastSpring and fill in a detailed questionnaire covering your business name, audience, colours, preferred fonts, competitors and logos you like. It is worth taking this seriously, because the designers work from your answers. Concepts arrive through a customer dashboard, where you request revisions and approve a final design.
Business days are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm US Eastern time, so a Friday order placed from the UK may not move until Monday afternoon. Revisions generally take one to three business days. Watch the deadlines: you have five calendar days to respond to each set of designs, or LogoNerds treats the project as complete. Finished files are kept for only ten days, after which they may be deleted, with a possible charge to re-create them. Download and back up your files as soon as you get them.
What happens if you don't like the designs?
The “satisfaction guarantee” is narrower than the headline suggests. Under the terms, it gives you one free redraw, which you must request within 72 hours of receiving your first concepts, and it applies only to the web and business packages, even though the order page shows the guarantee against the mascot package too.
Refunds are possible but limited. You must ask within three days of receiving the first concepts and before asking for a redraw or revisions. LogoNerds keeps a $20 admin fee on web and business packages and $50 on mascots. Once you start revising, the refund option is effectively gone. Other services, such as business cards, flyers and website design, are non-refundable.
Who owns a LogoNerds logo?
LogoNerds says it does not retain ownership of the final artwork, but it keeps the right to show your logo in its portfolio, in reseller portfolios and in advertising. You own only the one final design, not the other concepts. More importantly, the terms say LogoNerds does not guarantee originality, does not carry out trademark searches and does not transfer any trademark rights. If you might register the logo as a trademark, or are operating in a crowded market, check it yourself first through the UK Intellectual Property Office or the USPTO. Do the same if any element looks familiar.

Is LogoNerds worth it?
For a sole trader, side project, Etsy shop or new website that needs a clean, professional mark quickly, LogoNerds is good value, particularly the $47 business package with print files. The extras are useful too, from business cards ($17) and identity packs (from $47) to social media headers. The site itself looks dated in places, but the ordering process, file list and terms are clearly set out.
It is less suited to anyone who needs a full brand strategy, extensive back-and-forth or legal confidence that a mark is unique. If you go ahead, fill in the brief carefully, respond within the deadlines and keep your files safe. Then pick your package at LogoNerds.
