Salted Avenue: Shower-Proof Jewellery and $5 Nail Wraps

Salted Avenue sells stainless steel jewellery, $8 clip-on charms and $5 real-polish nail wraps. Here are the prices, the best pieces and the honest limits.

Cheap jewellery usually comes with a hidden end date: the morning a chain leaves a faint green line on your neck, or a favourite pair of hoops turns dull after one summer of sea swims. Salted Avenue is built around avoiding that moment. The family-owned US boutique sells jewellery made mainly from stainless steel, which it describes as hypoallergenic, waterproof and tarnish-proof, and most pieces cost between $8 and $35. Next to the jewellery sits a second line you might not expect: $5 nail wraps made from real polish. Salted Avenue jewellery isn’t fine jewellery and doesn’t pretend to be. It’s a low-stakes way to wear more, change things up often and stop taking your necklace off before you shower.

What sets Salted Avenue jewellery apart from fast-fashion pieces?

The difference is the base metal. Fashion jewellery at this price is often plated brass or alloy, which is why it fades. Salted Avenue starts with stainless steel and, on its warmer pieces, adds a gold finish. The Opal Gemstone Ring ($25), for example, is listed as stainless steel dipped in 18k gold. The brand says its steel won’t rust or darken from sweat, showers or daily wear. Rings run $20–25, including adjustable open designs such as the 6 Layer Open Ring ($20). One honest limit: the site doesn’t publish plating thickness, and “tarnish-proof” is the brand’s own claim. Any gold finish on any base can soften with years of friction. Sized rings sell out unevenly too. At the time of checking, the opal ring was available only in size 6.

How does the Salted Avenue Charm & Chain necklace work?

This is the brand’s best idea. You pick a chain, such as the Medium Paper Clip Chain ($18), the Large Paper Clip Chain ($20) or a Thin Rope Chain ($20, gold or silver). Then you clip on $8 charms, each with its own removable clasp, so you can rearrange the necklace in seconds. Options include a Mother of Pearl Heart in a lace-edged steel frame, a Crescent Moon and a Sand Dollar. Bundles reward commitment: the 3-Charm Necklace Bundle costs $29.45 against $31 bought separately, and the five- and seven-charm versions take off 10% and 15%. Salted Avenue leans cheerful, with a soccer ball, a cheer megaphone and a smiley face among the options. If you want restraint, edit firmly and stop at three.

Which Salted Avenue pieces work best for everyday stacking?

The Twisted Snake Chain ($30) wraps two smooth snake chains together into a choker. A 2-inch extender lets it sit snug or slightly lower, so it can go under a longer pendant. The Double Twist Earrings ($25) come in gold and silver, in swirl, crescent, pearl, hexagon and sparkle shapes. For a bolder ear, the Chunky Hoop Earrings ($25) are sculpted C-shapes in plain gold or two-tone. Salted Avenue also does a little quiet sparkle: the Geometric Sparkle Necklace ($25) comes with a rectangle, teardrop or triangle of zircon crystals. Read product pages closely, though. That necklace is described as gold-plated, with no mention of a stainless base, so don’t assume every piece shares the same shower-proof promise.

Are Salted Avenue nail wraps worth $5?

Each pack gives you 16 strips made from what the brand calls 100% real nail polish. They’re non-toxic by its account, need no heat and have no drying time. Application is simple. You clean each nail with an alcohol wipe, push back the cuticles, press a strip on from cuticle to tip, and then trim and file the excess downwards. The late-September 2026 drop is properly autumnal: Nitro, a brick red with fine glitter, plus Dusty Blue, Graphite and Rouge, alongside a deep archive of Halloween prints. If you find several favourites, the 6 Nail Wraps Bundle is $27 instead of $30. The limit is that Salted Avenue doesn’t state a wear time, and it calls the top coat optional. We’d treat the top coat as essential. If your nails are thin, soak them in warm water before peeling the wraps off.

Who should shop Salted Avenue, and what should you know before ordering?

It suits anyone who swims, trains or showers in their jewellery, likes a look that changes weekly, or needs personal-feeling gifts on a budget. It won’t suit you if you want solid gold or fine gemstones, or if you live outside the US, because Salted Avenue ships only within the USA. Orders go out within two to three business days. Shipping is a flat $5.99, and it’s free over $60. Returns are tighter than at big retailers. Pieces must be unworn and reach the brand within seven days of delivery, and refunds carry a 10% restocking fee, although there’s one free exchange. Sign up for the newsletter and you get a $10 code. Start with one chain and three charms. If you’re still wearing it in the shower a month later, it has proved its point.
